About the Snapshotter:
To be blunt: I'm an introverted pessimist. To combat this, I have a photoblog, which forces me to get out there and find beauty in the everyday ugliness of life. 
"Snapshot Optimism" is my attempt to nourish my own optimism through... well... through snapshots. (Both of my digital cameras are point-and-shoots; the more I read about DSLRs, the less I want one.) I like the blog format 'cos I have to hold myself a little more accountable if I think I have an audience! However, because
- A. I've already done the photo-a-day thing for a year and a half,
- B. because I am also trying to balance the rigors of grad school right now, and
- C. because I know that daily photoblogging eventually becomes a matter of quantity over quality...
Does this mean that everything I post will be of high-quality awesomeness? No!
Does it mean that everything I post will be positive and uplifting? No!
Will I ABSOLUTELY NEVER go more than 5 days without updating? No!
Will I post wayyyyy more flowers and sunsets than I should? Absolutely!

Equipment:
I don't think anyone actually cares, but in case you do, here's all the super-snazzy photographic stuff I use:
* Fuji S700 (my primary [point-and-shoot] camera, whose widest aperture is 3.5 and longest shutter speed is 4 seconds)
* Nikon 3200 (my pocket-sized camera with the battery life of a mayfly)
* Canon Rebel 2000 (my film SLR, which I rarely use 'cos film annoys me)
* GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program, which is kind of like free Photoshop)
* ...um, UV filters for the Fuji and the Canon. And a tripod. Sometimes.
Yeah. Did I mention I'm just doing this for fun?
