blue photo

This is the backdoor entrance to Monmouth Mall's Boscov's. The awning used to belong to Sterns, and before that to A&S.

And, while I'm on the subject of department stores coming and going, this location of Boscov's has announced that it will be closing, too. I don't think its replacement has been figured out yet.

Date: December 2007
Where/What: hanging around the back door of a large shopping mall in Eatontown, NJ
Camera: Fuji S700
Shutter: 1/50
Aperture: f 6.3
ISO: 100

Listening to: It's Only a Paper Moon (Nat King Cole)
Thankful for: people who'll walk you to and from el stations at night

sunset photo

Man. It's been, like, a whole WEEK since I posted a sunset. Can't be having THAT.

This was taken from the passenger's side of a moving car, so, y'know, cut it some slack. :)

Where/What: Sunset in Millstone or Monroe Twp.
Camera: Fuji S700
Shutter: 1/320
Aperture: f 3.5

photo from airplane

Somewhere over Ohio or Indiana. Or Pennsylvania, maybe.

I booked my flight online; I had a choice of exactly which seat to sit in; I chose this one because it was far enough behind the wings that I knew I'd be able to get some photos.

And the sky was clear! Though the window was smudged. (Don't look too closely for smudges or over-GIMPing or else YOU'LL GO BLIND)

Date: April 2008
Where/What: Flying to Chicago
Camera: Fuji S700
Shutter: 1/280
Aperture: f 5.0
ISO: 100

Listening to: White Room (Cream)
Thankful for: sunny days

George Washington Bridge photo

I went for a road trip to North Carolina last spring (to the International Whistler's Convention, no less!). On the way back to Poughkeepsie, we were stuck in Bridge traffic for about 3 hours. Three hours! To cross one measly bridge! Once we'd finally finally FINALLY crossed it, I took a celebratory photo of the bridge behind us.

Whew. I hope I never have to do THAT again.

Date: April 2007
Where/What: George Washington Bridge, New York
Camera: Nikon E3200
Shutter: 1/3000
Aperture: f 5.6

Deal Test Site sunset photo

Siiiiiiiigghhh. I know it's overdone and trite and redundant and everything else that an amateur photograph can possibly be, but I never seem to get sick of sunsets.

Of course, if the sky were that peculiar shade of pinkish-orange all the time, I'd probably care less.

Date: December 2007
Where/What: Sunset over Joe Palaia Park (formerly Deal Test Site), Ocean Twp., NJ
Camera: Fuji S700
Shutter: 1/125
Aperture: f 3.5
ISO: 200
