ketchup mustard mayonnaise condiments photo

Submitted to Macroday's "condiments" prompt.

This was kind of fun to do, although I'll admit that the ketchup was distinctly uncooperative.

Date: June 2008
Where/What: Ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise
Camera: Fuji S700
Shutter: 1/75
Aperture: f 3.5
ISO: 100

Listening to: Mahna Mahna (the Muppets)
Thankful for: having enough food that I don't feel too guilty about wasting a few teaspoons of condiments for this photo

I like this a lot. You really put your camera's macro capabilities to good use (for this shot as well as in general).

You also make me crave classic American grilled food, which I haven't had in quite some time.

andres serrano does something similar... however, the materials he used were a bit more... hhhmmm... profane... if you can find, you should take a look... that said, you might be able to find it on the internet (i've tried)... but a good fine arts library should have it...

in any event, this image is quite lovelyl...

Or Metallica's cover for their album Load. They use one with bovine blood and semen...

And after that lovely comment I just made: mmmm condiments!

Okay this is going no where fast thus great picture, I'm out.

(to adam)

actually, if I remember correctly (and i think i do), the Metallica cover actually is a Serrano image...

Apparently Serrano is responsible for the image on Metallica's Load album (Semen and Blood III) as well as the image on the Reload album (Piss and Blood).

m, I think you've had me try to Google Serrano before. I think the only image I found last time was the crucifix immersed in urine--which is pretty much what my search is yielding this time around, too.
