Nice picture. It brings back some memories. But how did you find out about Logo?
We were taught the basics of how to use it in grade school! Nothing fancy, just stuff like how to make a square, but I always remembered that turtle 'cos who the heck decides a triangle looks like a turtle?
Uber-esoteric...
Just in a regular grade-school class? Then it's not THAT esoteric, is it? ;) (Or was it a gifted and talented class that you don't want to toot your own horn for?)
(Or am I once again betraying my age, because computers were not so widespread when I was in grade school, and only the really nerdy kids who specifically signed up for computer classes in summer school were exposed to such things?)
You are totally right about the triangle. Computer geeks have funny ideas about what to call things and/or what to make things look like.
[Edit: I just found this blog post commemorating Logo's 40th birthday (last year). It contains a lot of comments by people encountering Logo at various stages of their academic careers, from as early as 1st grade to university. Highly correlated to age, no doubt.]
